The blogs, they are a changin’.
At least this one is.
Stay tuned.
In the meantime, may I introduce monthly awesomeness.
Where I link up three awesome bits of info for your happy taking.
Some free {for poor people like me}.
Some word-for-word {for Bible-study nerds like me}.
Some creative {for people who aren’t creative, like me}.
And all amazing.
Here goes some stuff for your September.
1} The Greatest Book You’ve {N}Ever Read
When I learned about this book,
I knew it had to show up here pretty quick-like.
Since when do I promote other books besides the Bible?
This book is amazing for three reasons.
1} It’s written by a 15-year-old.
2} It is delightful and captivating.
3} This brilliant, young author gets super excited about reading the Bible
because she thinks the Bible is super exciting.
Enough said.
But, seriously, I’d say this is a perfect gift for a young girl
who may be wondering if the Bible is really worth her time.
Know any of those?
Buy it here. Like the author’s Facebook page here. Check out her website here.
{A little secret: Come back in a few days to learn about a FREE copy.}
2} Psalms, Sandra McCracken
Just released in April, so I gotta tell ya now.
This is a beautiful album based on the Psalms.
Not word-for-word.
More like paraphrase.
Even more like interpretation.
But word-for-word occasionally.
So, I recommend studying these Psalms first
{reflections are more beautiful when you’ve seen the real thing}.
At least take your Bible and follow along.
Buy the album here. Read the story behind it here. Listen for free here.
And here’s a live recording of one of my favorites, “Send Out Your Light.”
It’s pretty close to the original text {I knew she could do it!}.
3} Word of Promise
Audio Bibles are such a brilliant idea, yes?
Listen to the Word while you shower, eat, clean, drive, work, sleep.
Ah, the beauty of multi-tasking.
So allow me to recommend the best.
Word of Promise, or “WOP,” as I like to call it, is very much worth the purchase.
From their site:
The Word of Promise is an audio Bible, dramatized by an all-star cast of actors, including Jim Caviezel as Jesus, Richard Dreyfus as Moses, Gary Sinise as David, Jason Alexander as Joseph, Marisa Tomei, Louis Gossett Jr., and over 600 actors contributing to this timeless work. This audio Bible is produced with state of the art audio technology, including sound effects and an original musical score.
Check it out here.
Happy September!
Love Sandra McCracken!

I like the new look and I have appreciated many of your posts. I am thankful for the time you had as influence in my girls’ lives. Are you still doing the retreats for young ladies?

Thanks so much! I am thankful for the time I had with your girls, too. I love seeing the pictures on Facebook. They’re all looking so grown up! The last of the young ladies’ retreats was in 2013. I considered many times bringing them back, but have decided to direct my attention elsewhere…to encouraging Bible saturation in the church, several Bible study groups, this blog, evangelism teams, pregnancy center counseling, photography…not to mention 30+ students to teach!…whew, I’m plenty busy. God has given me so much joy in these recent years and so many opportunities to share it with people!

Great resources! I have the video playing in the background while I work. I’m always looking for ways to build up my spirit in that unseen, unconscious level that changes our atmosphere and our hearts. And I’m not sure what changes you have coming, but your site is beautiful! Visiting from #DancewithJesus Linkup!

So glad you liked the video! Such a great song! This post was actually from a year ago {just using the opportunity to get it to more people through the linkups}, but as it turns out, there will be a few site changes coming in the next few weeks. It’s my “blogiversary” month, so I always try to update and spruce things up a bit! 🙂
