Bible Intake When Life is Crazy

Oh how you love the idea of sittin’ down with a cup of coffee in an overstuffed chair for an uninterrupted hour of Bible reading and prayer. But there ain’t no way that’s happenin’. Not in your crazy life.

Maybe Bible intake can happen another way?

Let’s talk about Audio Bibles and Scripture Songs.

#1 – they’re not all bad.

#2 – they’re your new favorite method in the midst of the madness.

Grab your earbuds – or turn up the volume for all to hear! You’ve just scored a way to let the Bible in while showering, primping, cleaning, cooking, driving, working out, mowing the lawn, you name it.

Basically, don’t let yourself do anything in silence. {Unless you need silence.}

And then there’s your Scripture memory work. Print that thing on a 3×5 card {no devices allowed}, carry it everywhere you go, and repeat it to yourself in all of the above scenarios. But only at red lights. And laminate before taping to your shower wall.

Yes, you should carve out a block of time to study the Bible now and then {preferably more “now” than “then”}, because porch swings, city parks, and cemeteries are #ideal.

But when you can’t? No excuses, my friend.

Thanks to smart phones and the even smarter brains of ours which are fighting – yes, fighting – for “whatsoever things are true,” the Word just can’t stay away. No matter how hard that stinking, sneaking whiz-of-a-Devil pleads for your soul.

  1. Definitely really good suggestions.

    Just like in Deuteronomy 6:7-8
7You shall teach them “diligently” to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
8″You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
9″ You shall write them o the door posts of your house and on your gates.”

I can’t underline words in the comments section but diligently.. if you’re not in the word how would you be able do it diligently to you your children.

Now days have to counter act against what we put in from advertisements to the news. The more truth is put in you the more your desire for His word becomes.

I know this is that the route you went with your post. But i hear it often enough from people: I am so busy.. working overtime and running here and there. etc there is no enough time for the bible.. I have a french words that i can add to that… thats a load a Balony….. But if you really wanted to be in His word or be active in His ministry. He will give you the time.. If you’re really willing to. 110% God will meet you there. You’ll have time. I say it because it true and been proven true

Just like Lidia said. there are ways to get the truth in. Thank you for the post.

  2. What a great, simple, and applicable way to get the Word into our minds. I still remember verses i learned in song as a child, and now my son, in kindergarten, is learning in this same way.
