Whose child were you?
You were a child of the world, ruled by your father, Satan. Though a kingdom such as this is merely one of death and darkness, you were at home there.
Sin reigned, and you obeyed it. The flesh gave commands, and you listened.
You were like all the rest. Destined for wrath.
Were. Past. Previous. Ago. Before.
And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of the world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience — among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Eph 2:1-3, 5:6
Whose child are you?
You are a child of God. Adopted. That was the plan all along. No longer at home in the kingdom of death and darkness, you live in the light. Now your job is imitation. What your new Father does, you do. And people can tell that your Father is the Light. Because you look like Him. And act like Him. You are His.
Are. Now. Present. Current. Constant. Forever.
In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ,
according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace,
with which he has blessed us in the beloved. Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
. . . for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.
Walk as children of light.
Eph 1:5, 5:1,8
